Party! Party!

Brayden has his friend party last night and we all had a great time.  He is a pretty easy to please kid and just wanted to keep his party simple and fun.  After asking him how he wanted to celebrate his special celebration he just wanted five friends over, eat pizza, drink soda and watch a movie.  So with that in mind, we started brainstorming cake ideas.  We talked about doing a movie ticket take or another LEGO cake.  You know what he wanted...a DONUT cake.  Not a cake shaped like a donut, a pyramid of donuts.  Oh, the simplicity!  I asked him over and over again if he was sure that is what he wants and he said, "mom, my friends will think that is the coolest birthday 'cake' EVER!"

So, there you have it.

He had a lot of fun with his friends and they interact so well with each other.

After blowing out the "cake"

He opened the gifts from his friends.  I just love this picture of them all huddled around Brayden as he opens them, one by one.

Then it was time for the MOVIE!  We borrowed a friends projector, hooked it up to our DVD player and had our own little "big screen" theatre.  The featured film was "Despicable Me".
It was a pretty funny  movie and everyone loved it.

It was a super fun evening for B to celebrate his 7th birthday!

Ummmm... *I* think his cake and movie choice rocked, does that make me juvenile or young at heart?! ;) I'm glad his party was such a success!
