Matt's High Adventure hike

Matt thinks that being a Scout Master is the best calling! He took the younger scouts to scout camp for a week then took the four older scouts on their High Adventure hike last week. They took the boys to the Wind Rivers Range in Wyoming.
25 miles in 5 days. 50 pound pack. Rain every day. Hail, wind and snow.
Everything a back country hike is supposed to be.
He has hiked into Wind Rivers 3 times before. Half of the hike Matt had done before but days two and three were new. Joe hadn't been on that trail since he was thirteen years old. Days one and four Matt and Joe had been on before.
The fishing was good, but not as good as he has experienced in years past. The boys did great, Matt and Joe loved getting out into the wilderness and fly fishing. Matt of course LOVED the gorgeous scenery.

everyone on the way up ...Joe, Kelby, Mike, Lance, Matt, Jaren
at the "top" of the summit
at the trail head...at the end.
tired, stinky and ready to head home

the scenery is amazing
Pin It!

What a way to leave a calling. It looks like a fabulous trip. I'm glad he's home in one piece. I know of another guy who loves nothing mroe than to be in the wilderness with a bunch of scouts. Mom

Gorgeous scenery! Looks like the boys had a good time and that is what matters! I'm glad Matt enjoys his calling!
