Ella had Kindergarten graduation on Wednesday. They were so adorable dressed up in little white gowns and white caps with a crimson and gold tassel. The class had a program prepared for the parents and then they received their certificate for their continuation to 1st grade. Ella was so excited and tried to avoid eye contact with us so that she didn't get embarrassed. We loved watching her and can't believe that she is now a big 1st grader! She had 12 girls and 4 boys in her class. A few of her classmates were at times quite a handful and made teaching difficult for Mrs. Egging. She is now retiring.....but I am sure not solely because of this class. She has been teaching for many, many, many years! We sure love her!
After her graduation we had to hussel to Brayden's class to watch his "Salute to the Flag" program. It was awesome and the kids memorized so many patriotic songs and speaking parts! I was teary eyed several times because these kids love their country and respect the flag and what it represents. He did great and we are so proud of him!
Right after that....we rushed outside for the end of the year BBQ with the entire school and their parents. It was fun...and hot outside. We love being able do so many things together as an entire family!
Matt jetted off back to work and we went back to school/work. It was a pretty relaxed day, most classes were watching movie or doing art projects, cleaning out lockers, etc. Ella was actually done for the day but Mrs Wrick, the 1st grade teacher, let her hang out in their classroom. At the end of the school day....we rushed home to get ready for Morley's graduation that night
Morley had his 8th Grade Promotion in the evening back at the school. They also presented academic awards. His actual ceremony was short and sweet. He wouldn't look at the camera for me....stinker! The pictures of him and his friends didn't turn out.
These two girls are fun and pretty cute! I really am thankful that I got to know all of them while working at the school. Kenny and Morley thought they would try to ruin our photo....
nice try! :)
Then.....on Thursday night we had a graduation party at our house! Just about everyone came. Unfortunately, Teagan very badly sprained his ankle after only being here for 5 minutes. After a trip to the ER he came back and joined in the fun while watching a movie. Everyone brought food/drinks to share, we had our lawn games out, basketball and a big fire. When we were setting up the projector to watch a movie outside it started to rain....so all 20 people headed into the basement. It was cramped but everyone still had a great time! I loved hearing from parents that their kids had a good time and we made sure everyone knew that they are welcome anytime at our house! I know we'll have more get togethers over the summer!
Happy graduation Ella and Morley!!

Ella's class had a lot of girls! And it's so fun seeing how "little" Morley's 8th grade class is. Love small towns. Such a good family!
