Happy Dad's Day!

This morning Matt woke up to a pretty good thunderstorm outside at 7:00 and it stormed ALL DAY LONG!  Flash flood watch, tornado watch, etc.  Nice Father's Day weather, right?  We had a great day at church were he received a chocolate bar and a bottle of sprite with a tag that said, "Happy Father's Day.  You're the world's greatest POP!"  Pretty cute!

We started tracking all of the storms heading our way, moved the vehicles to a nearby bank to take cover in the drive-thru canopy.  Then Matt got on the roof to get better video angles and photos on my camera.

WOW...

We never had a tornado but it was pretty crazy for a little while.  It rained...and rained...and rained for a few hours.  Water was up over the sidewalks and pouring out of our gutters in sheets of rain.  The weather was a good test of the fixes we did on our house before we put it on the market...and there was no leaking inside the house!  SO happy about that!

Once we knew we were safe, we took a few pictures and opened his surprise gift.

I bought him a new pair of basketball shoes while we were in Utah last week but we surprised him with a palm buckaroo style hat today.  It looks a little like a Mexican sombrero, but I'll help him shape it into a style he likes.  Now he's set to hit the ranch in proper style!

As the storms continued, my brother will and his new wife Val stopped by for a quick visit.  They are on their way back to Washington D.C. where they live and work.  It was fun to visit and eat some yummy food together.  We begged them to spend the night but they have a long journey ahead.

We sure love our family and especially our Dad today!  He is a wonderful father that makes it a priority to spend individual time with each of the kids on a regular basis.  He works so hard to provide for our family and we appreciate all he does for us.  Happy Father's Day, sweetheart!
