Football STATE playoffs on Halloween

Ella started to feel sick on Wednesday after school....right before we were leaving for the ward Truck-or-Treat party.  She threw up before we left....in the car....when we arrived at the church.  So, I dropped off the boys with Matt and turned around and came home.  Poor girl was on fire and feeling so sick.  Thankfully she was able to aim well in the bowl during the night so at least I slept well. Leyton's football team qualified for the State Playoffs.....and of course the first round game was on Halloween.  Since the team made the playoffs, it is tradition for all the players to get a mo-hawk.  It was funny to see the different mo-hawk styles of his teammates.  I stayed home from work on Thursday, which was Halloween and an early out for school because of the game.  I was really struggling with what to do with Brayden and Drew and possibly Ella if she was feeling better...and going to the game which was an hour away.  Our traditions went out the window of trick-or-treating as a family and I am so thankful for good friends who still made it a great day for them!  Kelly was really sweet and brought a bag of candy over for Ella since she wouldn't be able to go trick-or-treating.  Jill was awesome and offered for Brayden to come with them and he was thrilled!  Drew went home with Jeremy and also had a great time.  Both the boys brought home TONS of candy and were in good spirits.

Poor Ella slept in the car on the way to the game while waking up to throw up.  Our sweet girl was such a trooper and sat in the stands with us in the cold weather without one complaint.  She was either under layers of blankets laying on the bleacher with her head on my lap staying warm or sitting up while resting her head on my arm.  Thankfully she didn't throw up again and she started to perk up at the end of the game.  The game....was brutal.  Physically and mentally.  The reffing was poor and in my opinion cost us the game, which ended the season for our awesome team.  The JV boys didn't see any playing time but they were great sideline support for the team.  It was very emotional at the end of the game as it was the seniors last time on the field as Warriors and I am not sure there was a dry on on the field.

Ella was feeling a little better and wanted to do a little trick-or-treating in Hay Springs before we left.  Poor girl hadn't eaten in nearly 48 hours and we made sure she didn't have any candy on an empty stomach.  She just wore her hat and coat, no costume and nearly filled her bucket and was a very happy girl.  She was all of a sudden starving and had to wait 30 minutes before we were near a McDonalds.  She was so wiped from her long adventure that she slept through the quick stop all the way home and finally devoured the nuggets at 10pm before crashing back into bed.  She slept well and her fever broke and we ventured to school the next day.  She was so excited to participate in her class party and FINALLY dress up in her darling artist costume she came up with all on her own!
