Matt and Morley ventured off to scout camp in Colorado together.
Morley told him the only way he would go was if Matt went too.
Done.
Look at those "high-waters" on that teenage boy.
There was a huge wildfire in the area and the smoke would make its way into their camp.
Morley had a little visit to the ER in Fort Collins late Wednesday night. He tripped after coming out of the showers on the way back to their campsite. YUCK! He left the ER with five stitches. He was a trooper and continued on with camp.
The wildfire was spreading fast and they let the Scouts know that they would be going home on Friday instead of Saturday. They were not being evacuated, the firefighters were going to do a "precautionary back burn" to help with the fire containment. That planned changed on Thursday afternoon when the fire jumped the nearby river. At dinner they were told they were being evacuated and leaving that night. Our boys arrived home around 1:30 am safe and sound. They were bummed they had to leave early and they still don't know if all of their merit badges were completed.
I LOVE that Matt loves the scouting program and gives so much time and effort to helping make the program successful. He is such a great dad. He and Morley had a great time together. Next year....Drew can go too!
