We sure had fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day today!
Brayden and I made a leprechaun trap with LEGO's last night! He came up with the rainbow idea and the obstacle course. The leprechaun had to go up the stairs, through the door onto the wall of the trap and then through a hoop. Then he would have to climb the tower onto the bridge. The only way he could get down was by holding onto the grey rope and swinging down inside to collect the gold coins. The trick was: once the leprechaun let go of the rope, it would spring back up to the top where he wouldn't be able to reach it to get out.
That sneaky little lad made it through the obstacle course, took the coins AND got out. Brayden was a little miffed but the note left him curious.
They followed the trail of Andes mints....to a trap the leprechaun set for them. I think he forgot how big the kids were, there was no way they would all fit in the piano bench.
Ah....green snacks!
*Morley was sound asleep, actually sleeping in!*
As we walked around the house, we noticed the sneaky leprechaun played tricks on us too! He turned out milk green, flipped over our fruit bowl on the counter, turned picture frames upside down, put a shoe in the freezer and on shelves and turned the water in the toilet bowl green. That was quite a surprise to Drew when he flushed....the water turned green when he flushed and the tank filled back up. *wink*
The leprechaun also made a mess out of the bowl of Lucky Charms I set out for the kids.
He even wrote "hi".
...creepy...
For breakfast the kids enjoyed green milk (thanks to a trick by the leprechaun) with rainbow lifesaver straws, rainbow pancakes (I underestimated how large they would get) and Lucky Charms. The also enjoyed some mint fudge...
Rolo and rainbow licorice treats and.....
apple licorice and sour apple treats.
I would have preferred green apple slices and green grapes instead of so much candy...
Once Morley finally woke up, he enjoyed a quite breakfast to himself.
Our day was busy with our Saturday chores, a lot of playing outside and enjoying our 81 degree weather and spending time together! Matt has been on a business trip this week and we are very excited to have him arrive back home tonight.
We ended our evening with a mint chocolate chip/sprite floats and Harry Potter movie marathon.
The kids said they were delish.
Happy *green* day!
