this and that and a flat

Our high school volleyball team is awesome!  Morley was able to attend a few of their district final games and had a blast dressing up with his friends.  We don't often get to see the silly side of him so I am thankful that friends captured that picture for me!

Sunday morning everyone was just sluggish.  Like REALLY sluggish and not getting ready for church.  One of the boys asked if we could just stay home for "this one Sunday".  Of course the answer would be no but I said, "if Ella's front tooth comes out we can stay home."  Not wise.  Ella quickly told Morley to get some tools and pull it out.  It didn't work but they tried.  We all got ready and headed to church, only a few minutes off schedule.  About 5 miles from Sidney, driving 68 on the highway we get a flat. Again.  This time is was on the other back tire.  I am so thankful that Matt was once again driving!  Morley was a champ and did most of the tire changing himself while Matt was a great teacher.  Of course the boys said, "see, if we stayed home this wouldn't have happened."  I was quick to teach them that it would still have happened and most likely when daddy or Morley weren't with us.  It was a blessing it happened on Sunday morning instead of the night before!  Matt and I took the teacher age boys to a fireside/dance in Cheyenne Saturday evening.  We drove the van, 110 miles each way with 7 passengers and we were safe!  The temps at midnight were below freezing and high winds and changing a tire in those conditions and driving on a spare would have been a nightmare.  We are thankful for that blessing of waiting for the tire to blow until Sunday.  Mitch and Elaine gave us a ride home so that the van could stay in Sidney and be fixed easier Monday morning.  Matt was able to get an awesome deal on the new tire as the company felt bad that we had an earlier flat during the summer and then another on tires we bought from them.  Phew!

Today is Veteran's Day.  I just love these pictures of my Grandpa Boyle.  From my mom: "So grateful for my dad and his service to our country. Hard to believe he was just 22 as a fighter pilot in the US Army in WWII. And many thanks to all those who continue to protect our county.  He signed his plane "The Mag" short for the Magnet because he was shot at so often. He actually had a cartoonist paint a character with a magnet on his plane. Along with "Lady Beth" in honor of his wife, and my mom .... Miss my dad."

We had coconuts in our Bountiful Basket this week.  None of us are big coconut fans so we just messed around.  Morley got creative with the drill.  They did taste the milk/milky looking water and it was blech.  To
break it open he didn't use a hammer....he dropped it off the deck to the sidewalk.  Worked like a charm.  I didn't care for the coconut....so away it went. Pin It!
