deer, oh dear!

Yes, deer hunting again.  This time there was a ton of snow and freezing temperatures.  Same time: 3:30 am but different place.  We hiked in and were in place right before sunrise.  I saw a buck right off and Matt had me get my gun all set and ready....then we realized how far away it was.  Too far for a rookie.  Matt took over and make a few shots and he didn't drop.  We waited and waited and finally went out looking for him.  In the snow he would be easy to track if there was a blood trail.  Nothing.  Matt did is range finder thing and realized he was a good 100 yards off so he only missed because his rifle was sighted in too short.  Darn!  We walked and sat and then walked and sat and sat some more for hours.  The scenery was beautiful and it was nice to walk around to warm up the toes once in a while.  Sad to say, we left empty handed again.  I loved watching B with Matt.  He is his little shadow and just eats up all of this outdoor stuff!  Maybe next year we'll have more hunting luck!  These silly hats were lifesavers!  Love my hunting guys! Pin It!
