Weekend in DENVER

My brother Will called one day in March and said he, Val and Candice wanted to meet up with us in Denver in May for a baseball game, and of course to see each other!  Of course we were all so excited they would make the 8 hour drive and Val being pregnant! We purchased our tickets for the Rockies game, booked a sweet deal at a nice hotel and counted the days.  It also happened to be Ella's birthday weekend, so they was under the impression this whole trip was just for her birthday.

We drove the Gull's Escalade to Denver with their two kids to meet up with Jamie while Alaina was away in Utah.  Imagine...six kids with one seat missing and eight bags.  It was a little cramped but they watched videos the whole time so they barely noticed.  Jamie met us at the hotel to get Aaron and Noah and then Will and Candice arrived!  Poor Val stayed home because she has just been so, so sick during her pregnancy.  We missed her so much!  We hung out for a bit in our big and spacious room and made our plans for Saturday!

I woke up early to go to the temple with Will and Candice. It was a very busy morning so we chose to do inititories rather than a session. It was so great being in the temple, especially with my family and most importantly with Candice.  We had some quiet time to talk and to feel the wonderful spirit.  After the temple Will drove us to Charming Charlies...Candice had never been inside one before!  What??  She loved it of course and Will was a very patient brother!  We love him!  Finally we met up with Matt and the kiddos.  We were being tourists in Denver for our first time! It was so fun!  Will had everything planned out and we did some really fun stuff.  The Blue Bear, Capitol Building, walking around downtown and a DELISH restaurant for lunch.  Ella was surprised with a birthday ice cream and we all sang to her!  Then, it was time for the Rockies baseball game.  We had such a great time!  Our seats were perfect, except for the big fight that broke out in the row in front of us.  They were ejected and then it was quiet again.  In the end the Rockies won, thanks to the RALLY CAPS and constant cheering! Will is a HUGE baseball fan and his goal is to visit each baseball stadium in the USA and get a ball from each for case he is building! It was a fun and very long day!

Sunday morning we had to say our goodbyes and of course we were all a little sad it had to go by so fast!  We love them so much! We spent the rest of the day in Denver enjoying our time with one another.  We of course had Krispy Kreme donuts, took our Frisbee to the park and just enjoyed watching the kids play together for a long time.  Then we surprised them and took them to see the new Spiderman movie!  The boys were thrilled!!!  It was a wonderful weekend with family and being tourists!
